You’ve heard me say this a lot: I love exploring a new place through its food. And New York was no exception. I had heard a lot about the really good pizza and bagels and all the amazing restaurant. So I was so excited and super curious to try everything and see if it compared to London for example.
Our last day in New York was probably one of the best too. Not only because the weather was so good but we got to see a lot of iconic places. Plus, as it happened on almost every day, we stumbled upon some cool places that even though were not a priority, they deserved a spot on our lists.
One of the things I loved about our trip to New York was how we got to have a plan for almost each day. I hadn’t actually had the time to make an itinerary beforehand and I got a bit of FOMO. But it turned out I didn’t have any reasons at all.
Our second day in New York was one of the best! Although it was super cold and windy we were lucky to have a sunny day which made the cold a little easier to bear.
New York has always been on the very top of my list of places to visit. It probably has to do with the many movies and shows we see on TV that take place in NYC. It also has a lot to do with the architecture, the art scene, and the food. So when I got there I really had to pinch myself to believe I was actually in Manhattan!
I think I could go to London every year and still have a ton of things left to see. And I bet that’s not just me. The first time we visited London I was so excited to see all the landmarks. And I saw close to none, lol. I just never imagined how big the city is. And how long it would take us to go from one place to another.
I’ve been itching so badly to write this post. My boyfriend and I both love Greek food! And we both agree there’s something really special about it. Because although it’s not exotic like Thai food or pretentious like a Michelin restaurant menu, it’s just as amazing. It’s simple and fresh and oh so tasty. And Crete hasn’t disappointed in this area either. We had some of the best food on the island. And now I am going to tell you where, but most important what to eat when in Crete.
Second time in the USA and I’m thinking what to do and see there, and of course, Grand Canyon National Park was in my mind all the time. I went to NJ and NY, and Grand Canyon seemed quite far. But I did my research and realized it’s not impossible. If there’s a will, there’s a way, they say.
When planning to visit Grand Canyon think seriously about driving or picking a tour, the time you have to spend there, your budget, your travel companions preferences and your “to see list”.

I get a feeling that a lot of us have already used Airbnb to book an apartment or a room whenever we travel. So I am always a bit surprised when I meet the occasional reluctant person. Not that there’s anything wrong with it. But I just thought by now anyone has tried it once.
One of the biggest street art “galleries”, a huge open-air collection of street art is in NYC Brooklyn, more specific the area known as Bushwick Collective. This area expanded a lot in recent years, and Brooklyn is the most representative neighborhood for this type of art in New York. You will notice many murals spread in Manhattan streets as well, but this is a sort of organized area where local or international artists paint, spray or decorate.
