Last summer has come and gone so fast that our trip to Crete seems so long ago. It’s been a busy couple of months and I’ve been meaning to write about Crete earlier, but here we are. It has been one of the best vacations ever. And a huge part of that is because of the amazing beaches. The other part is because of the food, but that’s another story for another time.
It has been one of my biggest dreams to visit Crete and especially the Balos and Elafonissi lagoons on its Western coast. I have already documented my love of Greece in a lot of posts. And Crete has only helped make me love it even more. However, coming from Romania, transportation can be a bit expensive and limited. So I felt like Crete was not that tangible for a lot of time. But with a bit of planning and research, you can make your Cretan dream come true.
Warsaw, Poland is more than just a historic city. Second World War was harsh to them and the communist regime that came afterward is not an easy one to handle. Although scattered from the foundation, now Warsaw is a vivid and modern city. For a good background, check this documentary website. However, if you’re in Warsaw during summer time, go out of the Old Town and experience the usual city life. Polish people have a thing for deckchairs, ice-cream and beer, so my personal recommendation is to lie down and enjoy the life.
OK, so summer vacation has been a lot on my mind lately. And the first thing that comes to my mind is the beautiful island of Thassos. With its diverse beaches and crystal clear water, this gem of the Mediterranean is also known as the “emerald island” thanks to it lush pine forests. It’s simply the dream destination for our summer vacation!
